Michel Arrion, ICCO Executive Officer, Visits Cameroon Ahead of 111th Ordinary Session
Yaoundé, Cameroon – Michel Arrion, Executive Director of the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO), has arrived in Cameroon for a crucial visit ahead of the 111th Ordinary Session of the ICCO, scheduled to take place in Yaounde, later this year.
Received in audience on Friday, January 25, 2025 by the Minister of Trade, M. Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Trade in the presence of the Heads of Cocoa Organisations including the General Manager of NCCB and the Executive Secretary of CICC, discussions centered on preparing the agenda for the 110th session, and the continuous increase in world market prices of cocoa which is having a significant impact on the entire cocoa industry.
During his stay, the ICCO Executive Officer will also engage with other stakeholders, including government officials, cocoa farmers, exporters, and industry experts, to ensure the session’s success and promote Cameroon's contributions to the global cocoa sector.
The ICCO leader is also expected to tour cocoa-producing regions, gaining firsthand insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the sector in Cameroon.
The 111th Ordinary Session of the ICCO, a key event in the global cocoa calendar, will bring together representatives from cocoa-producing and consuming countries, industry leaders, and policymakers.
