Detailed Overview of Seven Best Coffee-Producing Regions in Cameroon
Coffee is one of the highest-producing commodities in Cameroon. It is majorly grown in seven different regions of Cameroon. These regions are the West, Northwest, Littoral, Southwest, South, Central, and East regions which are regarded as the best coffee regions in Cameroon owing to their quality coffee production. Due to the high altitude, rich volcanic soils, and ample rainfall, the production of coffee in these regions is of good quality and also qualifies the standard benchmark of coffee production.
Coffee Production Zones in Cameroon
Production of coffee on a large scale is very important for the economic growth of Cameroon. Coffee is grown extensively in different Cameroon coffee producing regions, including Robusta majorly cultivated in the coastal zones and Arabica in the Western highlands. In Cameroon the production of quality coffee is monitored and regulated under the responsibility of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) and Scientific Research & Innovations (MINRESI). Under these authorized bodies, there are various projects which have been implemented in coffee producing basins and some new projects are still running with the purpose to expand coffee production.
