University of Maroua: NCCB to install a coffee shop on campus
An NCCB delegation led by the General Manager, M. Michael Ndoping has met with the administrative staff of the University of Maroua to discuss modalities for the creation of a Coffee Shop on Campus.
The visit that took place on Friday July 22, 2022 is part of an on-going programme to promote local consumption of coffee and chocolate at Airports, Government Ministries, State Universities, and public places.
While chairing the working session, Prof. Kolyang, Vice Rector of the University assured Mr. Ndoping and his team of the University’s commitment in accompanying NCCB throughout the conception and implementation of the programme.
With a student population of over 40 000, 15% of which are drawn from neighbouring countries in the Sub-region, and an annual entry of more than 15 000 students, Mr. Ndoping said the University of Maroua has the potential of becoming a coffee consumption hub in the Cameroon.
With the booth expected to go operational next year, the NCCB team is to return with a Memorandum of Understanding in the months ahead.
The creation of a coffee shop in the University of Maroua will add to the already existing installations in the Universities of Buea, Douala, Yaounde and Dschang. Prior to Maroua, NCCB authorities also met with the administrative staff of the University Ngaoundere for a similar exercise.
