Grouped Cocoa Sale generates more than FCFA 1 billion for Biakoa Cocoa Farmers
On January 29, 2025, seven cocoa producer cooperatives from Mbangassina, a locality in the Mbam and Kim Division, came together at the MBANGASUD COOP-CA warehouse, and sold 202 tonnes of cocoa at a price of 5,000 CFA francs per kilogramme, generating over one billion CFA francs.
This grouped sale, organized with the support of the National Cocoa and Coffee Board (NCCB), was personally supervised by Mr. Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Trade.
Speaking after the operation, the Minister of Trade underscored and commended the improvement in the domain of quality, which enabled cocoa farmers to achieve such high prices.
He also called for genuine collaboration between cocoa producers and buyers/exporters to ensure a fair distribution of added value.
