With the perspective of exploring ways to improve on trade between Cameroon and Turkey, the National Cocoa and Coffee Board (NCCB) sponsored the first-ever Cameroon-Turkey Business Breakfast on Thursday February 26, 2021 at Akwa Palace Douala.

The event held under the theme: Investment and Partnership Opportunities for You.

The General Manager of NCCB, Mr. Michael Ndoping, one of the four panelists encouraged Turkish Investors to tap into the numerous and lucrative trade prospects offered by the Cameroon Cocoa and Coffee Sectors.

Mr Ndoping touched on the areas of branding of finished and semi-finished products destined for home-consumption and for the European markets, the need to see Turkey as an important trade hub  for Cameroon.

 

Cameroon and Turkey already have a strong bilateral linkage in the Cocoa Sector. In 2018, the Turkish Development Agency in a bid to improve on the quality of cocoa produced in Cameroon offered an Improved Cocoa Drying and Treatment Facility in Sa’a, a cocoa producing locality in the Lekie Division of the Centre Region.

Also in attendance were, the H.E (Nfon) Ekoko Mukete,Turkish Honorary Consul, Mr. Shinwin Soh Boma Donatus, Deputy General Manager of the National Investment and Promotion Agency (NIPA),  and Mr. Halidou Bello, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts.
